Montreal, August 24, 2010—Gino Vannelli will be in his hometown, Montreal, on Friday, October 29, as part of his Best and Beyond tour. Accompanied by eight musicians, he will be presenting his brand new show at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier, inspired by the album of the same name, as well as by a book, Stardust in the Sand, that looks back over his career.

Best and Beyond revisits the highlights of Gino Vanelli’s career, from the early days to the present, recounting the influences that led him to write his songs. Of course, Vannelli will perform his greatest hits (I Just Wanna Stop, People Gotta Move, Black Cars, Hurts to Be in Love, Brother to Brother, Living inside Myself and Wild Horses), but in each song, the singer will have a surprise for the audience.

A little background
Gino Vannelli was born on June 16, 1952. He released his first recording on RCA Canada at the age of only 16, but it was when he signed with A&M Records in 1973 that his career really took off. While at A&M, he was in the company of such prominent artists as The Carpenters and Supertramp.

In 1978, his album Brother To Brother was a triumph. After big boss Herb Alpert quit A&M, he left the company and joined Arista, releasing Nightwalker in 1981. In 1984, he joined Dreyfus and recorded the album Black Cars. In the 1990s, he made two albums for Verve: Yonder Tree and Slow Love. In 2003, he released a classic/pop album entitled Canto on BMG, as well as These Are the Days, a mix of new and old songs.

On Friday, October 29, Gino Vannelli will bring his biggest hits to life again. It’s a unique event you won’t want to miss!
