2010—Pro Musica and Place des Arts are continuing
their harmonious collaboration with the 7th season of
Les Mélodînes from
February 18 to April 8, 2010. Presented at the
Studio-théâtre of Place des Arts every Thursday from
12:10 to 12:50 p.m., Les
Mélodînes features first-rate
concerts over the noon hour. So bring your lunch! On the menu this
year: top Canadian pianists, a harpsichordist, a guitarist, a
flutist, a cellist, a coloratura soprano, the Atelier lyrique de
Montréal, and Brigitte Rolland et compagnie. Let yourself be
lulled, enraptured, swept away by these great classic and
contemporary works.
DANIEL MORAN, piano – February 18
A winner of several prestigious awards, Canadian pianist
Daniel Moran is a rising star on the national and
international stage as a soloist and chamber musician. With his
flawless, highly refined technique and growing enthusiasm for
contemporary music, Daniel Moran has performed the
entire oeuvre of Australian composer Carl Vine.
DANIEL BOLSHOY, guitar – February

With his charismatic presence and superlative talent as a
soloist and chamber musician, Daniel Bolshoy is an
irresistible force on stage. The most sought-after classical
guitarist in Canada, Daniel Bolshoy is committed
to making classical guitar music accessible to all.
DENIS BLUTEAU, flute and RENÉE LAVERGNE, piano
– March 4
First flutist of the MSO and a professor at the
Université de Montréal since 1993, Denis
Bluteau will perform, alongside pianist
Renée Lavergne, a potpourri of music for
flute, from 18th-century Belgium to contemporary Georgia,
Switzerland and America.
STÉPHANE TÉTREAULT, cello and SASHA
GUYDUKOV, piano – March 11
A 16-year-old prodigy who studies under Yuli Turovsky of I
Musici de Montréal, Stéphane
Tétreault was officially selected to join the You
Tube Symphony Orchestra at Carnergie Hall next April in New York.
He also took part in the 9th Rostropovich Cello Competition in
Paris in November 2009. Accompanied by pianist Sasha
Guydukov, this young prodigy has a brilliant career ahead
of him.

DE L’OPÉRA DE MONTRÉAL – March

Under the direction of Chantal Lambert, the
Atelier lyrique de l’opéra de Montréal will
captivate one and all with its youth, freshness and beautiful
voices.
LUC BEAUSÉJOUR, harpsichord – March
25
Combining virtuosity, elegance and expressiveness,
harpsichordist-organist Luc Beauséjour has
been acclaimed by public and critics alike. Named the “2003
Performer of the Year” by the Conseil québécois
de la musique, he will perform some of the finest compositions for
harpsichord.
BRIGITTE ROLLAND ET COMPAGNIE – April

Long-time partners, these four musicians from the
MSO—pianist Brigitte Rolland, violinist
Andrew Beer, viola player Lambert
Chen and cellist Michael
Nicolas—are offering music-lovers some vintage works
by Puccini and Elgar.
MARIANNE LAMBERT, soprano – April

Blessed with a scintillating and multicoloured voice, colatura
soprano Marianne Lambert is also known for her
extraordinary stage presence. The intelligence of her
interpretations is matched only by her astonishing vocal
mastery.
