BJM DANSE MONTRÉAL - Rossini Cards+Zero in On+Zip Zap Zoom - 2010/2011 from DANSE DANSE on Vimeo.
“A recent re-branding of the company as BJM DANSE MONTRÉAL suggests that the range of the company (…) is far more expansive than originally conceived. That eclectic embrace, and the company’s superb dancers, are brilliantly showcased [here].” (The Boston Globe)
The Ballets Jazz de Montréal are back onstage and better than ever! The company’s very sensible artistic director Louis Robitaille managed to attract both Annabelle López Ochoa, a young Belgian-Colombian choreographer who has taken Europe by storm, and the Spanish-born Cayetano Soto as well as Mauro Bigonzetti, the director of Aterballetto, Italy’s foremost ballet company. Also active in theatre, opera and musical comedy, Annabelle López Ochoa has created Zip Zap Zoom, an ingenious back-and-forth between the stage and the virtual world. “The performance (…) by BJM was, once again, a wonderful experience. (…) Annabelle López Ochoa… is a star today and deserves the recognition for this simply phenomenal piece of work.” (Temecula Dance Examiner). While Soto will be offering a brand new duo, Bigonzetti will be presenting Rossini Cards, a feast full of irony served to the spirited music of Gioacchino Rossini. Delectable!
