In the lead roles, Phillip Addis and Michèle Losier, two rising stars who are already making a name for themselves on American and European stages. Werther, a young poet, is in love with Charlotte. However, to fulfil her mother’s dying wish, Charlotte must marry Albert. In despair, Werther at first runs off. But upon his return, he finds that this impossible love must end in death.
